Things to do at Culcreuch Castle Hotel

There are many activities to indulge in around Culcreuch Castle Hotel. Its situation within Central Scotland makes it eminently suitable for day trips to east and west, north and south, always with something to take your interest.

Below is a selection to tempt you to choose Culcreuch Castle Hotel and make sure you enjoy Scotland to the full:

At Pots of Gartness, near Killearn, at certain times of the year you can see salmon leaping up a waterfall to spawn.

Loup of Fintry is a spectacular 94-ft waterfall of the River Endrick, just two miles from Fintry village on the B818 road.

Glengoyne Distillery, near Killearn on the A81. Tours, tasting and nosing sessions, plus a heritage room devoted to Scotland's national drink.

Fishing on the Culcreuch Estate. There's free fishing for wild carp in our own loch, or you can go for trout and salmon in the River Endrick. We can arrange permits, as required.

Golf. Choose from the local 9 hole course at Balfron to world-famous championship courses at Gleneagles and St Andrew's.

Hillwalking is very popular in this area and starts just outside the Castle door here in the Campsie Fells. Travel 40 minutes by car and you are in shot of three munros, which is to say a mountain over 3,000 ft.

For Walking and Cycling, the less strenuous Campsie Trail links the villages of Fintry, Kippen, Gargunnock, Balfron and Lennoxtown.

Or why not just GoApe at the David Marshall Lodge near Aberfoyle, only a few miles from Culcreuch. Go on, you know you want to.....

There's certainly lots to do around Culcreuch Castle Hotel for those who don't just want to relax and soak up the ambience.
